Assembly line part 1… Beaks & Gobblers!

Being a full time working mother of 2 full time kiddos and 2 part timers, makes it hard to “keep up with the Jones’ or “keeping up with the Kardashians” these days…

It always kinda tough making sure all areas of life are up to par, is so challenging! So to make my 6 year old, 1st grade Son always loves bringing treats for his classmates, and like always it was just two days before the Thanksgiving Holiday, he asks to bring a class treat and then came those puppy eyes… So this Mommy said of course we can do something. And now a days for school, things need to be store bought; which can be not as fun or personalized. So running to this Mommy’s favorite site Pinterest we found cute turkey pudding cups that look cute and easy enough to whip together for his class. So, ran out and got 4 for $1.00 chocolate puddings cups, at Wal-Mart and of course it probably could of been cheaper if we would of hit up Costco, but that’s what happens when it’s 2 days before you need them!

First Part of the Assembly line finished

These turkey pudding cups was he’s first experience doing an assembly line assembling process type project. First, we flipped pudding cups upside down and draw two little black eyes. Then, cut 2-3 “fall” colored turkey tails. Also, cut orange triangles, for the beaks and cut a red squiggles out for their gobblers. So, while my son drew the eyes; I got to do a lot of cutting, especially since we were making 30!

✌️Look at all these Turkeys! ✌️

Then, we started the assembly line I glued one color, he’d glue the next one. Then he would glue all the beaks on and I would follow behind gluing on the gobblers! It was a bit longer of a project then it looks probably taking 2+ hours to complete the set of 30 Turkeys! But the memories and experience you make with your children are the moments that money can’t buy!

Comfort Food can be quick an easy! Sometimes we can get lost in the thoughts that it’s easy to pick up fast food but it’s also easy to pick up grocery store food too! I used canned beans but just as easy put some water and beans in the crockpot and Bam! same ingredients (a little more time needed) I also used canned tomatoes but fresh boiled tomatoes could be used too! I only went vegetarian today cause I didn’t want the added meat cooking step but feel free to add your favorite grounded meat such as beef or turkey.

So here’s the recipe:
– 2-3 cans your choice beans (I used 2 black beans and 1 kidney beans cans)
– 1 can diced tomatoes ( I used one with added green chilies just for an additional layer of flavor, not to make it spicy though, just a flavor layer)
-1 pack of Chili seasonings

Combine in Pot
Simmer 15-20 minutes!

Delicious Homemade Style Chili

Having a Party for my baby girl in December is a challenge. And having her birthday be the 3 days before Christmas makes it even more crazy but I have to make it possible for her to have her own birthday memories that aren’t over casted by December Holidays. So it’s got to be memorable but also on the cheap! So to the dollar store I go! I buy the solid table covers: Some for the tables and some for the walls! Solid balloons, some paper products too. And all the rest…to the printer I go!
Add solid paper to the wall. Buy a few things 12 x 12 add Characters, make it personalized!

Starting our Elf on the Shelf!

image

Starting a new family Christmas tradition in our new home this year…Elf on the Shelf… and for those who haven’t heard it’s a real good helper to keep those kiddos on the nice list!

It’s a story about how Santa really knows if you’ve been Naughty or Nice, and its b/c Santa sends down Elfs that reports back to him nightly, about what he has seen! Just don’t touch him because he might lose his Christmas magic and not be able to make it back to Santa to report if you’ve been naughty or nice. Also your kids get to pick out the elf’s name and can talk to him and tell him what they’d like for Christmas but the Elf can never talk back for it’s Santa’s Rule.

Our family named the elf, King Elfie! & I cannot wait to watch the joy that will occur with this new tradition in our family!
